Panelist, Segment on Hydrological Data Management
Robert Argent leads the Australian Bureau of Meteorology's Water Program, delivering a suite of national water data and information services that include past, present and future assessments of surface and groundwater resources. This work involves gathering, harmonising, managing and publishing data from over 200 different water agencies and authorities across Australia. Over the past two years he has also led the World Water Data Initiative, as part of Australia's membership of the UN and World Bank "High Level Panel on Water". He previously directed Australia's Water Information Research and Development Alliance, a research partnership delivering operations-ready research outputs across water data, assessment and forecasting. Prior work includes fifteen years with The University of Melbourne on hydrological analysis and catchment modelling.
