Dr Sarra Touzi is a hydraulic and rural engineer, with a Master of Science in water sciences and PhD in management sciences with focus on private sector participation in water services. She has 19 years of experience in technical cooperation and development projects related to integrated water resources management. Dr Touzi joined the Global Water Partnership Mediterranean (GWP-Med) in 2009, contributing to the development of the organisation with a geographical focus on North Africa and East Mediterranean and a thematic focus on Climate Change. Dr Touzi is in charge of a large project portfolio dealing with the use of hydrological services. Among others, she is leading the implementation of the AMCOW/GWP Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) for North Africa. In this framework, she facilitated the elaboration of an action plan to enhance the hydro-climate services and the water resources evaluation and monitoring system in Mauritania. Dr Touzi is also leading the drought vulnerability assessment in Tunisia in collaboration with the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA) and the Tunisian Water Resources Department.
