Speaker, Key presentation on Hydrological Data Management Initiatives
Berit Arheimer is head of Hydrological Research at the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) leading a group of some 30 scientists. Ms Arheimer has a scientific background in integrated catchment modelling, applied science and large-scale hydrology from all populated continents, using and providing open data. She has published some 70 peer-reviewed scientific articles and is promoting Open Science. Additionally, she has been leading software development for data sharing and impact assessments to enhance sustainable development. Ms Arheimer is coordinating international projects to develop services and build capacity in operational hydrological forecasting as well as climate change impact modelling. For this, she applies agile approaches and co-design with users in real case-studies of decision-making.
